Guide: Safety and security recommendations for mobile classrooms

New guidelines from PASS offer advice for K-12 leaders to ensure the safety and security of portable classrooms, which are often used to address space constraints.

Portable or mobile classrooms are commonly used by schools and districts to accommodate enrollment fluctuations, provide temporary space during new construction, renovations or after a natural disaster, or to create specialized learning spaces quickly and affordably.

However, the temporary nature of mobile classrooms and their separation from main campus buildings can create vulnerabilities related to security, accessibility, and emergency preparedness.

The Partnership Alliance for Safer Schools (PASS) has developed a new white paper with guidelines and recommendations to ensure mobile classrooms are safe, secure, and compliant with PASS Safety and Security Guidelines for K-12 Schools.
